Last Friday evening’s dinner at the Turf Club was a sell out, partly because of the elegant venue and prospect of good food, wine and company but also because one of our members, Sir John Stuttard, had agreed to give us a talk about the 1997 Peking to Paris Challenge in which he participated.
Before dinner, Sir John gave his engrossing talk accompanied by numerous slides. The Turf Club excelled itself as usual with a first class meal and wines and we then retired to the room in which the pre-meal talk had been given, to watch a video of the 10,000 mile gruelling drive.
An event to cherish and remember.
